Interesting facts about this valley:

Swat pronounced with a soft "t"at the end, more like "swa'th" has not been found in ancient history. The region of Swat is mentioned in history with different name from time to time. At the Buddhist time (300 BC) the Swat was know as Udhyana (Garden). While the Chinese travelers dictionary mentioned swat as Soto. And its make sense that the recent form of name (Swat) is the distorted form of Soto.

Mehmood Ghaznavi conquered Swat. He settled two tribes the Swati and Dalazak here to maintain the control of conquered area. As the Swati tribe was larger, the zone was called by the name of this tribe, Swat.

A great place to visit for a little Swat Valley Culture is Malam Jabba. This beautiful area is nestled inside the lovely Karakoram mountain range and is close to both Islambad and the Sharif Airport, making it very convenient for tourists. The small town is also home to a luxurious ski lodge and resort with something for everyone. The main tourist destination of the area, the resort features skating rinks, fully functioning ski lifts, and slopes that are to die for. While there's not much Swat Valley Art in this particular area, the rest of the city more than makes up for it.

Another wonderful part of Swat Valley Geography is, of course, the actual valleys. A popular valley in Valley Swat is the Madayan Valley. Often compared to the Alps of Switzerland, the Madayan Valley is surrounded by many different mountain ranges, creating amazing scenery for any visitor. Fortunately, the valley is also central to many other valleys and attractions in the area. Resorts are also common in the area, including the Madyan, Chail, and Bashigram resorts. Other valleys to see include Shanku Valley, Bashigram Valley, Chail Valley, and Mankial Valley.
